Contiki has announced four new trips to trending destinations in Asia, including its first-ever itinerary in Borneo. The other trips span the Philippines, China, and India, offering diverse experiences for travellers aged 18-35.
Wildlife wonders: Borneo’s big debut
For the first time, Contiki heads to Borneo with its Borneo Adventure, a nine-day journey perfect for wildlife enthusiasts. Highlights include encounters with orangutans, pygmy elephants, sun bears, and proboscis monkeys. Travellers will visit Bako National Park and Selingan Turtle Island, where turtles lay their eggs on the beach, and cruise the Kinabatangan River for more wildlife viewing.
This trip also supports sustainable tourism by visiting animal sanctuaries and contributing to UN Sustainable Development Goal 15: Life on Land. A recent Contiki survey revealed that 29% of young travellers actively seek sustainable experiences.
Philippine paradise: Island hopping elevated
Building on the success of its Philippines Island Hopping itinerary, Contiki introduces an eastern option visiting four new islands. Travellers can snorkel during a rare sardine run, spot dolphins, and savour an authentic eight-course Filipino meal in Bohol. For those craving a comprehensive experience, the 22-day Ultimate Philippines Island Hopping combines the eastern and western itineraries.
China reimagined: Simplifying the journey
The reintroduced China Adventure is a 12-day guided tour designed for those navigating the vastness of China for the first time. Highlights include Beijing with a local guide, the terracotta warriors in Xi’An, a panda sanctuary, and, of course, the Great Wall.
Tigers and Taj: India in a week
The Eternal India Express promises an eight-day budget-friendly journey through iconic destinations such as Delhi, Agra, Udaipur, Jaipur, and Ranthambore. Highlights include a tuk-tuk tour of Old Delhi, a tiger safari in Ranthambore, and a visit to the Taj Mahal.
